Tuesday 1 October 2024
On Tuesday 1 October 2024 the BFI biennial fundraising Gala, LUMINOUS, returns to London’s iconic venue, the Roundhouse. Join a host of stars and industry luminaries for a spectacular celebration of film and generosity in aid of the British Film Institute.
The BFI National Archive is one of the world’s most significant collections of film, television, and the moving image: a gateway to the past, present, and future of screen culture.
Together, we can use these collections to ignite creativity, empower the next generation and illuminate every voice in the Archive.
Imagine a world where this national collection is at the fingertips of every child, student, and curious mind in the country. Where the collections can reach from the BFI vaults to the most isolated in our communities. Where we have equipped the next generation of heritage experts with the specialist skills to protect the collections for decades to come.
LUMINIOUS 2024 will help realise this vision.
Your support at LUMINOUS will enable us to care for over a century of screen stories, memories and masterpieces and revolutionise how they are experienced in homes, classrooms, and libraries across the UK.
Be a part of this extraordinary journey.
Join us as we announce the BFI & CHANEL Filmmaker Awards: Celebrating Creative Audacity
The BFI is delighted to continue our partnership with CHANEL in recognition of creative audacity in filmmaking.
With the partnership in its third year, three awards of £20,000 each will be given on the night to emerging UK film creatives who demonstrate originality and risk taking and want to explore a new dynamic to their work.
The Awards will provide the three winning filmmakers with the financial and creative freedom to expand their craft, develop future projects, gain further skills, explore new ideas, and can also be used to support a residency or entry to a creative programme.
